2026 Huk Charleston Cobia Cup Fishing Tournament logo

For the second year in a row, Saltwater Cowboys is proud to serve as the host location for the 2026 Huk Charleston Cobia Cup Fishing Tournament. Grab a line and grab some friends. This weekend’s sizing up to be one of the biggest yet, with 75+ boats expected to hit the water.

Big Fish. Big Winners. Big Fun.

Join us Thursday, May 28, through Saturday, May 30, from 5-11 p.m. for a Shem Creek fishing boat battle royale to see who can reel in The Big One™. Registration is open now, and there’s more on the line than fish for this year’s winners.

Thanks to an incredible $100K+ gear giveaway from PENN, Gulp! and Plano, the first 75 boats to register will walk away with a serious lineup of premium gear.
First 75 boats will receive:

  • PENN Authority® 6500 Spinning Reel (or newest equivalent)

  • PENN Carnage® Spinning Rod (or newest equivalent)

  • Berkley ProSpec® Chrome Line

  • Berkley baits (new drops included)

  • Plano Waterproof 3600® StowAway™

Ready to register? Do it ASAP at charlestoncobiacup.com. And if you need more convincing, don’t just take our word for it. Here’s what Capt. Ryan Howard of RedFin Charters, the lead captain of last year’s winning boat, has to say.
“Winning the HUK Charleston Cobia Cup last year was an incredible experience, and I’m fired up to get back out there and compete again this season. What makes it even better is knowing this tournament stands for something bigger—supporting efforts like the Waddell Mariculture Center and helping with cobia replenishment for the future. It’s one of the best-run events out there, and you can feel the passion behind it from start to finish. Looking forward to another great year at Saltwater Cowboys.”

We couldn’t have put it better ourselves. Because, like Ryan said, this is about more than a good time or good competition. It’s about doing good, too.

Protecting Our Waters With Huk Charleston Cobia Cup

We’re especially grateful for our friends and partners who organize the Huk Charleston Cobia Cup for their commitment to protecting the waters we all love.

This past March, Huk Charleston Cobia Cup organizers, alongside our owner Wade Boals, presented a $10,000 check to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the Waddell Mariculture Center.
The donation, made possible through proceeds from last year’s inaugural event, will “go toward cobia replenishment efforts and ongoing research focused on sustaining the species.”
